Meet Terrilyn

Terrilyn Moore is a licensed mortgage broker and has been a part of the mortgage brokering industry starting in 2007. Her previous career with a law office for more than 15 years ,which laid a solid foundation for a smooth transition to mortgage brokering. She has specialized in non-traditional financing for people whose credit has suffered due to life circumstances such as illness or divorce. Terrilyn is passionate about walking clients through the entire process and helping secure financing for their home and assisting with debt consolidation or restructuring. She finds a solution amid circumstances where clients have often been turned away multiple times. This is where her nurturing, customer-centric side truly shines through – in helping people rebuild their credit after their financial confidence has been shattered. As a proud mother of three, Terrilyn has built my brokering career from the ground up and am now a top producer with a strong reputation in the industry centred around hard work and sound ethical standards.

How has Covid-19 affected your business?

With mortgages being a part of the essential services, I am not fully shut down with Covid 19, although the real estate industry has taken a huge hit and almost come to a screeching halt, I am still able to service my clientele virtually.  I had already started to set the business up as an automated modern office offering e-signatures and essentially working the transaction from start to finish via phone and email.  Now I have implement zoom into my business as well.  

How do you continue to service your clients?

With Covid 19, many people are very unsure and afraid due to usually both income earners in a household being home without their normal income coming in.  I called all of my clients as well as sent out mass emails and social media posts to assist them and to reassure them I am here to help.  I have had many conversations assuring clients and educating them on the mortgage deferral programs out there and assisting them to make a decision if that was a good fit for them.

What are you doing to prepare yourself for when you can re open your business?

Moving forward as my business is primarily linked with the real estate market, I am hoping that we see a “Spring Market” once we see some of the current precautions lifted and people can return to work.  The Real Estate Market was very strong before this all hit and I am hoping that there will still be a decent demand for financing.  As well, moving forward with my business, the automation has helped me streamline the business better to assist clientele more efficiently.  I was already set up with most of the automation, however most people still wanted that face to face meeting with Covid 19 it has taught people to adapt and that there are alternatives to face to face meetings.  

How are you managing personally?

Personally I am coping okay.  Definitely miss socializing with friends and family.  Miss being able to go to my cottage.  However, I have been going for regular walks and have been doing yoga online a few days a week with some friends.
