Meet Alessandra
Alessandra is an Artist - Medical Aesthetician and Beauty Advisor. Some would refer to her as the one stop beauty shop. Her Libra tendencies have her hands all in and passionate about everything beauty related. “I love transformation and I truly feel my life purpose is to make woman (yes I am a feminist) feel confident and there absolute best”
How has COVID 19 affected your business?
Without hesitation I made the decision to shut down as soon as I was informed my daughters school was closing due to the covid pandemic. I felt my clients and my family were no longer safe having people in and out of my home based beauty studio. The following Monday the country was put on a lock down to have no physical contact with anyone that didn’t live in the home.
How have you adapted or pivoted your business?
I never had time before to do tutorials and videos they are extremely time consuming especially with a little one. But there I went completely out of my comfort zone to create posts and tutorials on self-care at home during the shut down. Using myself and whatever I have to keep my clients engaged and having a little fun trying to make them not take life so seriously in this very scary and serious time. Ladies there is no time like the present to practice that smokey eye if it doesn’t turn out its all good and no one needs to know. LOL. I also still have access to my beauty supply which delivers orders next day so if you should need anything like always I am a call or message away.
What are you doing to prepare yourself for when you can re open your business?
In Preparation for reopening I am sanitizing like crazy on the daily, Upgrading my skills and techniques through practice and online courses. Researching the newest and hottest trends and products in the industry to best serve all my beautiful clients one very valuable lesson I have learnt throughout this whole ordeal is I need to SLOW THE F DOWN (future book written by Alessandra Carvalho) because the best results TAKE TIME.
How are you managing personally?
Personally when this shut down started I found myself very anxious and worried, overthinking everything about life. Now as time has passed and I have realized it is completely out of my control I have found ways to relax the mind and take things day by day. Using my time to be more creative than ever and having fun doing what I love. Diving deeper into my passion head first is keeping me afloat and taken my mind away from these scary uncertain times.
